The nursery is complete?

Well, I think we can say the nursery is complete! Of course, as first time parents, I am sure there will be changes made, but for now we are very happy with the final product! Here are a few pictures:

35 Weeks!

I am very happy to have another week off of work. Unfortunately, it is not as fun when Mark has to go to work. We have a pretty busy week ahead of us though. Tuesday is our LAST birthing class. We are very happy that it is going to be over. No more breathing exercises!! Wednesday, we are having the Hoppers over for dinner. I am hoping to use my new kitchen-aid!! Thursday, we are going to have dinner with a bunch of the Mann clan. A nice post-Christmas celebration. All in all, it should be an exciting week.

Today I went to the doctor. I gained some more weight (I'll blame that on the fudge! Thanks mom!). Evan's heartbeat was still in the 149-152 range. My belly measurement was a little small, but the doctor said it is nothing to worry about. Hard to believe I would measure small because I feel a lot bigger! She said everything looked great and now I am at weekly appointments. Let the fun begin!! We actually get to see if Evan is getting ready to make his appearance. I'll have an update for everyone on Monday though I doubt this early in the game we will know much!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas and enjoying time with their family!

In one month, we should be welcoming little Evan into this world! 31 days.....

We also want to thank our family who has been so generous with Christmas presents and helping us really get ready for baby Evan! We appreciate it so much!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Love,
Mark and Megan

Week 34!

Only 40 days to go! It seems so close, but yet so far. I am glad that we will have some family time this week to get my mine off the fact that Mark and I will welcome our little guys in about a month! I am getting to the point where I am pretty uncomfortable. When we were at one of our classes the other day our instructor mentioned that when you feel like you can't get any bigger YOU WILL. Well that is how I feel. Thank goodness I have the next two weeks off to try and relax and get as much rest as possible.

Saturday, Mark and I went to a 3 hour breastfeeding class. It was semi-useful! I think we saw enough pictures of other women's breast to last a life time.....

Today, we went to visit the Hoppers in Arlington. We got a chance to celebrate an early Christmas with them!! We had a wonderful dinner and got to exchange presents. They were VERY generous and I got a stroller! I am so excited! We came straight home so that Mark could put it together.

Mark putting it together and Troy trying to eat it!

Lola was scared of the stroller...

The stroller! Great work Mark!!

Tuesday, we have our second birthing class. Another fabulous four hours of sitting there getting scared out of your mind. We can't wait!

I am sure I will have a lot of updates over the break because what else is there to do :)

Week 33!

Well here we are at week 33. Hard to believe! I went to the doctor today. Everything looked good! Belly still measuring right on track...still gaining weight. I have another appointment in two weeks and then I am down to one week appointments. The doctor did confirm that I have been having some Braxton Hicks contractions, but she promises they are fine and just my bodies way of getting ready for labor. YIKES!

Also, Mark and I FINALLY started out birthing classes. We went to our first of three and it was pretty good. During the breathing exercises, Mark and I were a bunch of giggle boxes, but otherwise we learned a few things. Saturday, we have a breastfeeding class. What a way to start of a week off from work. Hopefully we will learn some helpful tips!

I can't tell you how excited I am to have a two week break starting this Friday. I know Mark is excited too because he took a week off as well!

Week 31!

Thanksgiving was wonderful! Sally made us an amazing meal and we had a lot to be thankful for! I know this picture is blurry, but here is me at 30 weeks and 5 days on Thanksgiving.

Since we had a nice long break for work (yipee!!), Mark and I did a lot of baby stuff. I dusted the baby room from head to toe. Then Mark helped my organize and wash all the baby clothes!
Evan's big kids pants!
Evan's smaller pants!

Evan's onsies! 0-3 months!

Evan's closet. Clothes from 0-24 months! What a godsend!

Evan's cloth diapers and his cute little shoes!

Me at 31 weeks! Evan is getting big and so is my belly! He should be about 4lbs now!

I had a doctors appointment today. Mark and I were there for 2 hours waiting. Grr! We met with the doctor for about 2 minutes. I was right on track for belly measurements. I finally put on a significant amount of weight. Can't say I am happy about that, but whatever Evan needs!! His heart rate was still beating strong at 151 bpm. He is healthy and that is all we can ask for! I have hit the mark for appointments every 2 weeks, so that means we are nearing the final stretch. SO exciting.

On a separate note, our dear friend Kristin should be giving birth within the next two days, so keep her and Dale in your thoughts and prayers for a safe and easy delivery of baby Brittnay!

Week 29!

We went for our 3d/4d ultrasound today! Warning it is a little weird, but we thoroughly enjoyed it! Little Evan looks just like his daddy! Unfortunately, Evan was asleep the entire time, so no fun movements from him. His heart rate was 154 bpm. Which is excellent. He was swallowing a lot, but that was all we got to see. Let's hope that when he is here he is just as calm and quiet. Wishful thinking huh?

2d Evan's Profile
3d Evan sleeping so peacefully!
He looks like he has some big lips. Not sure where those came from...
Plump lil' cheeks!
Look at those arm muscles!!

Me at 29 weeks. I feel like my belly is really growing!!

Here is a quick clip of Evan. Nothing exciting to see, but a sleeping Evan.

We had a great time! I hope you enjoy seeing Evan as much as we did!!

Week 28!

Thanks to my wonderful mom we finally have a nursery that is coming together. We got the bumper, crip skirt, and sheets! We have a valence, but no curtains because Pottery Barn thought it would be a good idea to discontinue them. So sad. Now I am on the search for matching curtains. Here are a few pictures of the bedding. More to come once we get the all room decorated!!
Also, a special thanks to Mark who has been very helpful and understanding as we put the nursery together. I didn't like the way the crib skirt was hanging, so he moved the crib and the mattress about 10 times for me. Thanks babe for everything, I love you!!!

The crib!

Troy had to smell all the new stuff :)

My favorite is the rug!!

A close up of the bumper and bedding!

Our cloth diaper stash. Yes we are insane, but aren't they cute!!

We have a name.....

Drum roll please..... Mark and I decided on:

Evan James Hopper

Evan is Mark's middle name and means God's Grace.
James is Matt's (Mark's brothers) middle name.

It took us a long time to agree on a boy name, but we finally feel that this one seems to fit our little guy.

Here is a picture of Mark as a kid, of course playing golf! Too cute to not share!!

I should find out Monday about my test results. I left the lab at 11:45 and my doctors office closes at noon on Friday. I'll give you an update as soon as I know anything.

****My test results came back NORMAL! No gestational diabetes for me. Thank goodness!

Week 27

My last week of the second trimester! So hard to believe. This will be a big week because we will finally have furniture in our nursery and I'll find out about Gestational Diabetes. Baby Hopper has gotten really strong. You can now see him punch my stomach. When Mark is really lucky, he gets to see him dancing in there. Pretty amazing. Marilyn and Mom got to feel him this weekend, too!!

Week 26

Yesterday, Megan had her glucose test for gestational diabetes. Unfortunately, she failed the test. About 15% - 25% fail this test with a false positive. As such, she will have to take an additional test sometime next week. The second test typically takes 4 hours to complete (Megan is not happy about that fact!). We will keep you updated, but don't worry, if she does have it, she will just need to monitor her blood sugar and her diet.

PS: Megan's belly is starting to really get big!!! Baby Hopper is about 2lbs!!

Update: Megan's appointment is scheduled for Friday, November 5th. First thing in the morning, so hopefully by 1 she should know if she has gestational diabetes or not. Don't worry we will update you. Also, we will be getting our nursery furniture next Wednesday.

Week 25

No news is good news!!

Next Monday, I go to the doctor for my glucose test. I am not looking forward to it, but I'll be glad when it is behind me. We should have more to update on next week after the doctor.

Also, we should be getting all of our nursery furniture delivered next week!! Pictures to come when it is here!!

Oh yeah...Mark and I finally deciced on a name, but don't worry we are going to keep you in suspense a little longer!!

Week 23 Update!!

Baby Hopper is doing fantastic!!

It was a very weird appointment because we go in and they are asking how we are doing. We reply fine. The doctor does the ultrasound. It takes maybe 5 minutes. He says that Baby Hopper looks completely healthy. Always good to hear.

Then Mark asks, "Well, how did the stomach look?" The doctor looks puzzled. "I didn't know I was suppose to look at the stomach." Mark and I just look at each other. We assumed he had all our paperwork from our other doctor explaining the reason for our visit. I guess not. So, he starts asking us questions about what our doctor saw. Of course, we don't really know since our doctor nonchalantly brought up this problem at last visit. He goes back and does a quick peek at the stomach and says everything looks good. Mark and I feel very un-reassured since he didn't know what he was looking for in the first place. BUT, if the doctor says Baby Hopper is 100% healthy, who are we to not believe him?

We did get some good pictures!!

Baby's Little Feet

Scratching his forehead!

Hand on his face!

Believe it or not....This is a straight on shot of the face. Good Luck :)
Me at 23 weeks!

So all in all, we have a wonderful healthy baby! Thanks for all the prayers!!
