We had a very wonderful, but busy weekend! Saturday we went and spent some time walking around the mall. Mark and I wanted to get out of the house, but it is so hot the only place to really go and stay cool is the mall. It was packed. A lot of back to school shoppers I imagine. It was Evan's first time out in his stroller as a big boy. Meaning we did not have the little carrier attachment in it. He did great. So great that he actually fell asleep while we were cruising the mall. It was exciting that he could actually fall asleep with so much going on. After a very busy day, we went and spent the evening at the Davis' house. Evan and Brittany (Kristin and Dale's sweet girl) got a chance to actually play together. It was Evan's first time to play and he didn't do that well... He stole the toys from Brittany... Tried to use her as a teether .... Grabbed her rear... and maybe, just maybe, loved her a little bit! Brittany is a little mover and can get everywhere. Poor Evan, who has just mastered sitting, would get so sad when Brittany could just scoot away from him. You can see in the pictures that he tries to grab her and keep her from leaving. I hope that these two grow up to be great friends. They are wonderful kids!! Once the kids went to bed about 8, the adults stayed up, and what did we do? Sing tunes to children's shows. HAHA. My how our lives have changed. Ok. It wasn't that lame, we did sing a little, but we were playing games and drinking some wine. A very nice adult evening!
Sunday, Evan finally got to church again! He was such a wonderful boy! He was a little giggly at the beginning of church, but fell asleep for the majority of church. He got a sweet sleepy boy blessing that I think made the rest of our day joyous! Our first church visit was not as wonderful, so it is great to feel like we can continue to take Evan back. We may even get brave enough to leave him in the nursery.....
After church, we went to eat at Blue Goose. Yumm.. Evan had a bottle for his lunch and he was being so lazy. He just sat there and made us hold the bottle for him. Silly Evan! He did get to try some fun foods. He had refried beans (HATED!!!), scrambled eggs (I would say he liked them!), and some brunch potatoes (hmm..he wasn't too sure about this!). He is so adventurous and loving a lot of new foods. I love this wild side of Evan!
My mom and aunt where due in from Longview. They showed up around 3 and it was Evan's first time to meet his great aunt Cathy! He loves Cathy! They had a great time playing before we left. We decided to go eat an early dinner at Babe's. OH MY GOODNESS! I have been to Babe's before, but I was so pleased with how delicious our food was. I think we all left fully satisfied. The banana pudding was to die for. I could have eaten 4 bowls of that. Evan was sadly asleep on his great aunt and that point and didn't get any, but in spirit he ate so much he passed out. :)
Evan asleep after the mall!
"Can we be friends??"
"Hey, quit moving. I can't so that yet!"
Cute Brit!
"Yummy, Brits foot...."
I have shoes on!
Evan destroyed the banana pudding....
Passed out...
