Gotta love

this cooler weather. It is so nice outside. The highs are in the 80's and the lows are in the 50's which is below average for this time of year. Now if only we could get some rain. I feel like half of Texas is on fire. I have family all over Texas, so it really scares me when I hear of new fires popping up. Thankfully, we haven't had any issues with fires in our area. I just want some rain for Texas!!! On a more up beat note, Evan has pulled up to a stand again. He is getting really strong. I still just can't believe he can do it. He still isn't crawling. He just rolls, scoots, and sits. A weird way to get around, but whatever works!

And the victory bells will ring out!

We had a wonderful, Tech filled weekend!

Thursday, Evan and I drove up to Lubbock with Nini. It was a really long trip, but Evan was great. I am so thankful that he does so well in the car. That night, Evan tried his first sopapilla! Of course, he loved the sugary goodness.

Friday, Nini and I went searching for Tech apparel. Evan didn't have any tech clothes that still fit him, so we had to get him some new ones. We also took the chance to walk around the Lubbock mall. I 'wore' Evan and he had a blast. He got the chance to look around and eventually fell asleep! Sometimes I wonder why I was blessed with such a wonderful, calm, well behaved baby! I am sure the two's will make up for it!!

Friday night, Evan, Nini, Great Aunt, and I, all went out to eat. Let me just say it was a very interesting night. Evan, 'Mr. I am going to get into everything' was a pain! He tried grabbing knives, forks, menus', food! We gave him little bits of food and for whatever reason he kept gagging on EVERYTHING. Needless to say, that dinner took about 4 years off my life. All is well though because Evan is a trooper and showed us that we are just silly, worry warts!

Saturday, GAME DAY! We started the morning off by taking a million pictures of Evan on the Texas Tech campus! He didn't want to smile and was tired, but still did pretty well! We took him home after that for a nap. We had hoped to make it up to the stadium for a little bit of tailgating, but barely made it in for the kick off! Welcome to life with a baby! Unfortunately, bad weather was on the way and what comes before bad weather in West Texas? Dust! A dust storm hit us, but we toughed it out. Then, the light rain came, and the 9-10 Texas State score. We left a half time feeling defeated. Thankfully, Evan and the Red Raiders felt rejuvenated! Tech won 50-10!! Evan enjoyed his first game! He is our little Red Raider!!! Guns up!

Home, sweet, home.

Well, my Volkswagen went in again to get the recall part, and yet again, they didn't have the part. I do not understand how this keeps happening. Stupid, stupid, Volkswagen! I will not buy another foreign car. The point is, I was car less again, so that made for a fun picture day. Enjoy!

Just for you Mare! I love you!

Did I tell you....

How much I just love my little guy!! He has had a few first in the past few days. Friday, he tried tomato soup. He liked it. Then, on Friday, he ate some black beans. He loved to mush them and then eat them. Let me just say, I don't think babies can digest the skins of beans..... Don't ask me how I know. *wink*

Saturday, Evan got himself caught under his toy. He can fully get into the "crawl" position on his own, and then sit himself up. Well, he did this and tried to sit up under his toy. You can imagine how mad his was when he could not quite sit up. Poor guy. The good news is, today he tried it again, and just fully scooted under it. (pics to come)

Sunday, he took his first big boy bath. He was just not fitting into his little baby bath anymore and we didn't have anything else, so we tried just filling the bathtub. He loved it. He sat all by himself the whole time. He had a new boat (from Grammy and Pops) that he played with and his rubber ducky! Of course, Troy dog had to come help us out! It was a success!!

Today, Evan tried to pull him self up. He is by now means quite there yet, but the fact he is trying really excited me. The down side is, he gets frustrated when he can not stand and will whine until you lift him up. I am afraid my lil' dude is just growing up too fast!

I am sure a lot of you have noticed, but apparently, Evan has a new smile! I like to call it crinkle face. I am not sure where this look even came from, but let me tell you, it is his new smile.

If you can't tell by the pictures, we are SUPER excited about football!!!! Wreck 'em!
